DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Eagles women's tennis team (5-2) suffered a tough lost to the Eastern Kentucky Colonels, 5-2 on Wednesday on their home courts.
At No. 2 singles, Hana Im picked up one of two Eagles points, charting 6-3, 6-1 sets over Meredith Giles. Im handed Giles her fourth loss of the season while moving her record to 4-1 at the second slot.
Lindsey Kurtz tallied a hard fought battle in her wins column. She won her first set 6-4 but Anouk Favre took the second set 2-6. In the tie breaker Kurtz topped the hard hitting lefty 10-4.
The Colonels took all three doubles matches as the No. 1 doubles pair Svetlana Pimenova and Alezandra Sitnikova snuck by Natasa Zoricic and Im 9-7. It was Eagles' first loss this season at No. 1 doubles.
The Eagles will host Armstrong Atlantic on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The match will be held at the Ambassador William E. Crotty Tennis Complex.
