No. 8 Eagles Blank No. 24 Oklahoma Baptist 9-0

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. ? The eighth-ranked Embry-Riddle women's tennis team notched its sixth win of the season with a 9-0 shutout of No. 24 Oklahoma Baptist, Monday at the Crotty Tennis Complex. The Eagles are now 6-3 on the season while the Bison fall to 5-4.

Marga Rico Jimenez and Sara Abraúl were the first to finish their doubles match as they blanked Kaitlin Pascucci and Katie Halbesleben 8-0 at the No. 3 spot. Natasa Zoricic and Hana Im downed Samantha Attard and Brittney Byrd 8-2 at No.1 followed by an 8-3 victory by Natalie Anaya and Lindsey Kurtz over Camber Robinett and Brooke Mowery to give the Eagles a 3-0 advantage heading into singles play.

Anaya was the first off the court as she easily dispatched Halbesleben 6-0, 6-0 at the third position and Zoricic scored the clincher at No. 1 singles, downing Attard 6-4, 6-1.

Rico Jimenez earned her second singles win in dual match play this season with a 6-3, 6-1 over Mowery at No. 5. Im held off Byrd 6-2, 7-6 (7-0) at No. 2, Kurtz defeated Robinett 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4 and Abraúl downed Pascucci 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6 to seal the win.

The Eagles will be back on the courts at 10 a.m. on Tuesday when they host No. 10 Southern Nazarene.
