Fall 2008: Ranked 32nd in the ITA/NAIA preseason poll...notched a 6-0, 6-0 win over Webber International’s Jeanette Hicks in the first round of the ITA Regional tournament (Oct. 3)...went 2-2 in tandem with Sara Abraúl in doubles play...the duo downed Hicks and Kathryn Pace 8-1 at the ITA Regional (Oct. 3)...they also defeated Rollins’ Bradleigh Lore and Amber Arciero 8-5 at the ERAU Open (Sept. 19).
As A Junior in 2007-08: Finished the season at 8-12 overall with a 6-9 dual match record...went 3-1 in league play...earned all her dual match wins at the No. 5 singles position...dispatched Southern Nazarene’s Heather Parnell 6-0, 6-0 on Mar. 18...registered her second shutout of the season against Warner Southern’s Kelly Barmann (Apr. 2)...earned conference Player of the Week honors after winning three singles matches and two out of three doubles between Mar. 17 and Mar. 19... partnered with Sara Abraul to notch five victories at the No. 3 doubles position...the duo avenged an early season loss to the tandem of Stephanie Gula and Erica Cardenas in the Eagles win over SCAD at the NAIA National Tournament (May 13)... Fall 2007: Played five matches in two tournaments in the fall...rebounded from three straight losses to end the fall campaign with a pair of wins...defeated Bethune Cookman’s Chanetra Brown 6-3, 6-1 in the consolation semifinals of the Embry-Riddle Fall Tournament...bested teammate Sara Abraul 0-6, 6-3, 6-2 to win the consolation final...went 0-2 in doubles with Kerinn Meisenbach as her partner.
As A Freshman in 2006-07: Tallied a 13-10 overall record, including a 12-7 mark in dual match play...10 of her dual match wins were at the No. 5 spot....posted a 3-2 Florida Sun Conference record...went on a five-match win streak between Mar. 8 and Mar. 17, five of which came against nationally ranked teams...won both matches she played at the No. 4 position with an 8-0 win over Warner Southern’s Lindsey Murphy (Feb. 16) and a 6-1, 6-0 win against Southwestern’s Kelsey Reynolds (May 14)...registered straight set shutouts against Webber International’s Brittany Pinson (Feb. 9) and St. Thomas’ San-nise Crosby (Feb. 22)...clinched the Eagles’ win over Brenau, defeating Diana Cardenas 6-2, 6-1...went 12-10 overall in doubles play...partnered with Anna Haller at No. 3 doubles for a 7-6 dual match record...played in eight matches with Sara Abraul, going 4-3 at the No. 3 position and 1-0 at the No. 2 spot...Rico Jimenez and Haller won four straight matches between Mar. 10 to Mar. 16. Fall 2006: Earned her first collegiate win against Savannah College of Art and Design's Katie Glenn (6-2, 6-0) in the first round of the ITA Regional tournament (Sept. 29).
Prep: 2001 graduate of Nuestra Señora de Loreta...captained her team for three years...named to the Honor Division of the Junior League two times...recipient of two awards for excellence in mathematics...also played club tennis for C.D.M. La Dehesa in Madrid from 1996-2002.
Personal: Born in Madrid, Spain on Sept. 1, 1983...daughter of Juan Fermin Rico Gonzalez and Marga Jimenez Garcia...volunteered at El Hospital del Aire where she worked with children who have cancer...majoring in Aerospace Engineering.
