Eagles Win Big Over Florida College

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle men's basketball team grabbed its third win of the season on Friday night as they defeated Florida College 91-64 in the second game of the 2009 Daytona Mistubishi Shootout. The NAIA 14th-ranked Eagles improved to 3-2 on the year and the Falcons fell to 4-3.

Junior Glenn Dalcourt led all scorers with 16 points with a perfect six-for-six from the field, including four three-pointers. Sophomore Ray Graham chipped in 14 points while FC's Jordan Mitchell added 14 in the losing effort. Blake Touchard dished out seven assists to just one turnover in 22 minutes of play.

The Eagles jumped out to an early lead, 27-17, at the 8:48 mark after a Graham free throw before the Falcons answered with five straight points to cut the lead to five at 27-22.

A 9-2 run by ERAU was capped off by a Graham jumper assisted by David Butler as the Eagles led 36-25 with just over six minutes left to play in the first half.

The Blue and Gold's biggest lead of the first period was 13 at the three and a half minute mark when Dalcourt's three-pointer found the bottom of the net for a 43-30 lead.

The Falcons closed out the half on a 10-4 run to close the gap to 47-40 at the break.

ERAU used a 24-3 run to begin the second period to put the game out of reach. The Falcons managed just three points in ten minutes as they trailed 71-43 with less then 10 minutes remaining in the game.

The rest of the game saw plenty of playing time for the Eagle and Falcon reserves. All ERAU players save one scored in the game with four in double figures.

The Eagles managed a slim 53-52 rebounding margin, but dominated the points in the paint 42-22. ERAU's defense pressured the Falcons into 22 turnovers, using those turnovers to score 25 points.

The first game of the night saw the Daemen Wildcats defeat the Siena Heights' Saints 61-55.

The Eagles will battle the Wildcats tomorrow at 3 p.m. in the championship game after Siena Heights and Florida College play at 1 p.m.<-->
