DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle men's tennis team notched its eighth win of the season with a 9-0 shutout of Northwestern Ohio (6-7) on Tuesday. The Eagles are now 8-5 on the year and after an exhibition match against Coastal Georgia this afternoon, they will be back in action at 3:30 p.m. against conference opponent Ave Maria.
The Eagles swept through doubles to move ahead 3-0. Adrian Bayh won his singles match at the fifth spot against Cassio Sinmarco and Simon Felix scored the clincher with a 6-2, 6-1 over Alexander Hager at No. 5.
Down 5-0 in the first set of his match at the sixth position, Sean de la Bastide rallied to take the set 7-5 and won 13 games in a row to register his third dual match singles win of the year with a 6-0 victory in the second.
