AVE MARIA, Fla. – Led by Jennifer Beatty's 11 kills the 12th-ranked Embry-Riddle volleyball team picked up a 3-0 win (25-14, 25-22, 25-14) at Ave Maria on Friday night. The Blue and Gold improved to 12-6 overall and maintained a perfect 6-0 record in conference play, while the Gyrenes fell to 5-10, 2-2 in league matches.

Beatty's 11 kills led all players, as did her .450 hitting percentage. Erika Hinel chipped in with eight kills and three blocks while Emily Jacobson contributed seven kills and 10 digs. Hannah Gray picked up a match-high 20 digs while Tamires Ferreira tallied a match-leading 32 assists in addition to picking up 12 digs and six kills.

Jessica Sanchez led the Gyrenes with five kills while Marian DeTar collected a team-leading 13 digs and Briana Jackson compiled a team-best 10 assists.

The Eagles got off to a strong start, jumping out to a 13-4 lead in the first set. The margin increased to double-digits (19-9) on a block from Erika Hinel and Taylor Ruiz. ERAU closed out the set with three straight points, including a pair of kills from Beatty, to take the first frame, 25-14.

Ave Maria came out in the second stanza and took an early 10-7 lead. Back-to-back kills from Ruiz followed by an AMU error knotted things up at 10, but the Gyrenes would not give up the lead easily. It wasn't until a Hinel-Beatty block that the Blue and Gold moved in front for good at 16-15. An Ave Maria error made it 21-18 and a Hinel kill finished the set with a 25-22 win for Embry-Riddle.

ERAU used an early 8-2 run to establish a four-point lead early in the third set (8-4), a lead it would not relinquish. A block from Beatty and Morgan Shattuck extended the margin to 15-8 and a Tamires Ferreira service ace made it 18-9. Emily Jacobson put down a kill to close out the set at 25-14, completing the 3-0 sweep for the Blue and Gold.

The Eagles return to action with a 2 p.m. match tomorrow (Oct. 19) at Northwood in West Palm Beach, Fla. Live stats will be available at erauathletics.com/live.
