DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The 19th-ranked Embry-Riddle volleyball team earned a 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-15) victory over St. Thomas, and with it, the Eagles clinched the program's sixth consecutive Sun Conference regular season championship. The Blue and Gold improved to 15-9 and 8-0 in league play while the Bobcats fell to 12-12 and 6-3 in the conference.

Nicole McInnis put down nine kills to lead St. Thomas. Jordan Wiese picked up a team-leading 13 digs and Dana Nowaczyk tallied a team-high 20 assists in addition to six kills and five digs.

A 6-0 run keyed by a pair of Caitlyn Ballard service aces put the Eagles in the driver's seat with an 11-6 lead in set one. The lead ballooned to as large as seven (18-11) before the Bobcats cut it to four (21-17). Embry-Riddle closed out the frame winning four of the final five points to take the set, 25-18.

Neither side could break away from the other in set two until a pair of Ruiz kills gave ERAU a 13-9 lead. A Ruiz ace pushed the lead to 19-13 and the Eagles cruised to a 25-17 win, taking a 2-0 lead in the match.

STU held a slim 9-8 lead in the third set before Ruiz put down back-to-back kills to spark a 5-0 run that put the Eagles ahead, 13-9. A pair of 4-0 spurts helped build the margin to double-digits at 22-12 and the Blue and Gold sailed to a 25-15 win, clinching the 3-0 sweep.

The Eagles return to the court on Saturday afternoon for a 2 p.m. match against Florida Memorial at the ICI Center. Live stats and live video and audio streams will be available at ERAUAthletics.com.
