@ERAUSoftball Swept by No. 23 Davenport

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to visiting No. 23 Davenport on Monday afternoon at the Daytona State College Softball Complex. The results move ERAU's season mark to 1-7 while the Panthers go to 4-0.

Game 1 - DU 8, ERAU 0 (5 inn.)

The Panthers only scored in one inning of game one, but that proved to be enough as the visitors sent 14 batters to the plate and scored eight times in the third inning. KC Dunne, Paige Sant'Angelo, and Sarah Schneidenbach each singled home runs, while Alyssa Eastman and Haley Obetts each had two-run singles in the inning.

The Eagles had baserunners in every inning, but were only able to advance a runner to third base on one occasion.

Taylor Cowan and Talia Barraco each went 1-for-1 in the game, while Anna Battison went 1-for-2 with a hit-by-pitch and a stolen base.

Robi Zimmerman (0-4) took the loss, pitching the first three innings, allowing eight runs on eight hits. Cowan pitched two scoreless innings of relief, allowing just one hit and striking out three.

Obetts was 2-for-2 with two RBIs for DU, while Dunne went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI and Eastman finished 1-for-2 with a run scored and two RBIs.

Emily Maves (1-0) pitched a complete game shutout, giving up four hits and two walks while striking out seven.

Game 2 - DU 7, ERAU 0

Davenport got on the board first in game two with a pair of runs in the second, including an RBI single from Ashleigh Blovsky.

The Eagles had a good scoring opportunity in the third as Battison was hit by a pitch and Barraco and Haleigh Lewis each drew two-out walks to load the bases. Eastman was able to get out of the jam by striking out Zimmerman to end the inning.

Obetts drove in a run with an RBI double in the fourth to make it a 3-0 games, and the Panthers sent eight batters to the plate in a four-run sixth to extend the lead to 7-0.

Barraco went 1-for-1 with two walks in the game and Chanley Burge was 1-for-3 with a double.

Raquelli Bianco (1-3) took the loss, allowing seven runs (six earned) on 16 hits with a walk and two strikeouts.

Sant'Angelo finished game two 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI while Carli SanMillan was 2-for-4 with a double, run scored and two RBIs.

Eastman (2-0) got the win, tossing six scoreless innings, allowing two hits and four walks with four strikeouts.

The Eagles return to the field on Wednesday (Feb. 25) afternoon when they host NCAA III Concordia College (Minn.) in a doubleheader at the Daytona State College Softball Complex beginning at 2 p.m.
