@ERAUBaseball Downs No. 17 Tennessee Wesleyan 9-5

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Joshua Garcia and Liam Goodall combined for five hits and five RBI to lead the Embry-Riddle baseball team to a 9-5 win over No. 17 Tennessee Wesleyan (15-6), Tuesday at Sliwa Stadium. The win snapped a four-game losing skid for the Eagles who will go into Wednesday's match-up against Aquinas with a 13-10 overall record.

Goodall was 3-for-4 with 2 RBI and two runs scored, improving his batting average to .422, while Garcia posted his seventh multi-hit game of the season, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

The Eagles grabbed an early lead in the home half of the first as the Blue and Gold took advantage of two hits and two Bulldog errors to plate three runs.

Errors continued to plague the Bulldogs in the second as two more miscues allowed Cody Bogart to cross the plate and extend the Eagle lead to 4-0.

After a scoreless third, Wardy Polanco got the Bulldogs on the scoreboard with a home run to straightaway center in the top of the fourth.

The Eagles answered in a major way in the bottom of the fourth, sending nine batters to the plate en route to a five-run frame. Kyle Buchanan was hit by TWC starter Dillon Dove to put a runner on for ERAU with one out.  After a Dalton Hughes double put two runners in scoring position, Jake Cavender's ground out to the shortstop scored Buchanan for the Eagles' fifth run of the game. Dove struggled with his control as he another hit batter and allowed the Eagles' second run of the inning to cross on a wild pitch. Garcia capped the scoring by ripping a two-run triple to the gap in right center field to extend the lead to 9-1.

The Bulldogs got another solo shot, this time from Cody Heifnar in a two-run fifth inning, and added two more in the seventh, but ERAU's Zac Grotz entered the game in the eighth and tossed two scoreless innings of relief to help preserve the Eagle win

Senior southpaw Clayton Wagner went six innings and earned the win for the Blue and Gold scattering seven hits and surrendering just three runs for a quality start, striking out three to improve to 3-1 on the year.

Dove took the loss for the Bulldogs after allowing all nine Eagle runs, five of which were earned, on seven hits with three strikeouts in four innings on the hill.
