DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle men's soccer team fell to No. 13 Palm Beach Atlantic 4-1 on Wednesday. The Eagles record is now 2-6-3 while the Sailfish improve to 10-2-1 on the season.
Richard Dearle made four saves as the Eagles' keeper and
Felix Moller scored Embry-Riddle's sole goal.
The first half belonged to the Sailfish. In the 21
st minute, PBA took the lead with a shot from Eddy Milien. Just over ten minutes later, Fredo Dilbert doubled the lead to 2-0 with a goal assisted by Charlie Dennis.
Early on in the second half, Lucas Coutinho dribbled past the Eagle defense and beat a diving Dearle to make the score 3-0 in favor of the Sailfish.
In the 56
th minute, the Eagles put themselves on the board with a goal from
Felix Moller who finished after a pass from inside the box from
Knutur Bjornsson to cut the deficit to 3-1.
Five minutes later, Palm Beach Atlantic recaptured its three-goal lead when Felipe Clavijo put in a rebound after Cameron Roberts' shot ricocheted off the crossbar. The Sailfish held the 4-1 lead for the remaining 30 minutes to earn the victory.
The Eagles travel to Boca Raton on Saturday, October 22 to take on Lynn at 6 p.m.
