Tampa Shuts Out @ERAUMSoccer, 3-0

TAMPA, Fla. -  The Embry-Riddle men's soccer team dropped its second straight match on Wednesday night, dropping a 3-0 decision to Tampa on the road. The Eagles (1-6-1, 0-5-1) couldn't keep up with the Spartan (4-3-1, 3-2-1) offense, falling behind 2-0 at the half before UT added a third goal in the second period to account for the three goal final.

Tampa out-shot the visitors 6-1 in the first half, and Lewis Sugden's strike in the 32nd minute beat Richard Dearle in goal for the only goal the Spartans would need.

Just a few minutes later, Tampa doubled their total on a header from Markus Woldsund off a Sugden assist as the Spartans took a 2-0 lead into the break.

The home team put the match all but out of reach just seven minutes into the second half as Sugden recorded his second assist of the night on a pass to Brandon Berg, pushing the lead to 3-0 for the Spartans.

The Eagles registered three shots in the second period, but couldn't get one past Jake Richards as he recorded his third shutout of the year.

The Eagles will stay on the road to take on Florida Southern on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. First touch is set for 7 p.m. in Lakeland.
