ERAU overcame a rough start in the first set, using a 4-0 run to tie things up at 5-5. Another 4-0 run a few minutes later pushed the Eagles in front, with back-to-back Canfield kills giving the home side an 11-8 lead. Two straight kills from Jordan increased the margin to the largest of the set at 17-12, but Rollins fought back late, trimming the deficit to just two points at 23-21. An attack error gave ERAU set point at 24-21, and two points later Canfield put down another kill to close out the set with Embry-Riddle on top, 25-22.
The Blue and Gold had to bounce back after another slow start in set two, rattling off five consecutive points to turn a 7-3 deficit into an 8-7 advantage. Canfield scored on back-to-back aces to build the lead up to four points (16-12) and she would score the final kill in the frame to give the Eagles a 25-20 win.
Embry-Riddle finally got a solid start in the third frame, scoring the first five points of the set. The Tars wasted no time coming back, however, as they scored the next five points to tie things at 5-5. Rollins held three brief, one-point leads, but an ERAU 5-0 run put the Eagles ahead, 15-11, which would prove to be the final lead change of the match. RC was able to tie it up at 17-17, but the Blue and Gold would only surrender one more point for the rest of the match, ending the third set on an 8-1 run that included three kills and a block from Jordan.
McKenna James tallied the final two kills of the match to end the contest with a 25-18 win for the Eagles.
