Majstorovic's 29 Not Enough as No. 17 Nova Southeastern Downs @ERAUMBasketball, 106-87

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Luka Majstorovic went for a career-high 29 points and 14 rebounds, but the 17th-ranked Nova Southeastern Sharks used hot shooting to stay unbeaten in a 106-87 win over the Embry-Riddle men's basketball team on Saturday night. The Eagles (7-4, 1-1 SSC) shot nearly 50 percent from the field, but the Sharks (5-0, 2-0 SSC) managed a 56 percent clip from the floor and a 65 percent (10-for-17) effort from long range to beat the Eagles in the ICI Center for the first time ever.

The Sharks featured three players with 20-plus points, led by David Dennis' 25 to go along with seven rebounds and seven assists, while Connor Zinaich had a monster second half for the visitors, scoring all 22 of his points in the closing period. Mark Matthews added 20 points for NSU.

Majstorovic's 29 came on 12-of-16 shooting from the field and a perfect 4-for-4 effort from the charity stripe. Alston Jones finished with 20 points and five assists, while Cj Henagan went for a career-best 14 points off the bench, and Tylin Lockett-Fuller had 12 points and five boards.

The visitors held a 10-point lead at the break thanks to seven treys in the first half. The Eagles had a 23-20 lead after Henagan hit a triple at the 11:20 mark, but the Sharks ended the half on a 31-18 run, capped by an Eddie Puisis three with four seconds left that made it 51-41.

ERAU played evenly with the Sharks throughout most of the second, several times making mini-runs to get within single-digits, but each time the hosts gained a little momentum, NSU had an answer, never letting the Blue and Gold get closer than seven points in the final 20 minutes.

The Eagles head back on the road for a Wednesday matchup in Lakeland against preseason SSC favorite Florida Southern. Tip is slated for 7:30 p.m.
