Big Fifth Inning Sends Flagler to 11-3 Win Over @ERAUBaseball

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Flagler scored seven runs in a long fifth inning to win its 10th straight game on Tuesday night, topping Embry-Riddle, 11-3. The Eagles (6-7) lost their fifth straight contest, only managing three hits against the Saints (13-2).

Kyle Marsh, making his first pitching appearance for ERAU, gave up two runs on two hits in the first inning. before the visitors added a third run in the second frame. Luiz Olivier scored the first Eagle run in the bottom of the second after singling to left center, moving to second on a balk and later scoring on a Cody Bogart sac fly a few batters later.

Nick Dearing started the third inning on the mound for the Eagles, working a scoreless inning before doing the same in the fourth, but the Eagles couldn't muster anything against starter Jett Walsh, and the Saints exploded for seven runs on eight hits and one error in the fifth, putting the game out of reach at 10-1.

Olivier picked up an RBI in the sixth on a sac fly, while Marsh scored on a throwing error on the same play, but that was the last time the Eagles threatened, losing 11-3.

ERAU returns to Sunshine State Conference play this weekend by visiting Palm Beach Atlantic, starting with a Frirday matchup against the Sailfish at 6 p.m. and a Saturday DH at 12 p.m. in West Palm Beach.
