DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's tennis team lost all three doubles and a pair of singles matches on the way to a 5-0 loss to No. 13 Azusa Pacific (14-6), Monday at the Crotty Tennis Complex. Monday's match ended early due to rain and saw the Cougars improve to 14-6, while the Eagles dropped to 6-10 with the loss.
The three doubles matches finished within seconds of each other and all three double points went to Azusa Pacific. Diana Baumgartnere and Kara Hinton recorded the first point with an 8-4 win over Roberta Kravjica and
Georgina Wood on court two. The match at No. 1 doubles saw Toby Miclat and Petra Ivankovic best
Kathryn Bock and
Maria Turrillo 8-2, and Mikayla Rinker and Courtney Page completed the sweep by holding off Sabrina Ehrenfort and
Lydia Carter 8-6.
At No. 1 singles, 11
th-ranked Miclat notched a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Turrillo, and following a 25-minute rain delay, Hinton scored the clincher with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Wood at No. 3.
The Eagles will go on the road for the first time in more than a month on Wednesday when they travel to Lakeland to face Florida Southern. Match time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
