DAVIE, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle men's golf team tied a season low for a single round in its final round of the season, shooting a 288 in the third round of the Sunshine State Conference Championship at the Grande Oaks Golf Club in Davie on Tuesday. The Eagles finished the tournament in eighth place with a season-low 54-hole total of 886 (297-301-288).
The tournament was suspended in the middle of the second round on Monday, so the Eagles first had to complete that round when play resumed Tuesday morning.
Tyler Green and
Patrick Byrne ended up with the low rounds for ERAU, both shooting 74s.
Joshua Hickling fired a 76, while
Adam LaGrange carded a 77 and Ian Aldorando finished with an 81.
In the final round, Aldorando bounced back with a 69, tying for the lowest single round by an Eagle this year. He ended up with a 222 (72-81-69) for the tournament. Hickling posted an even-par 71 in the final round to finish as the top Eagle with a 221 (74-76-71). Green finished at 225 (75-74-76) while LaGrange was right behind at 226 (77-77-72). Byrne capped his career with a 228 (76-74-78).
Florida Tech won the team title with a blistering 16-under 268 in the final round to finish with an overall score of 833 (278-287-268), 19 under par. Florida Southern came in second with a 15-under 837 (282-280-275) and Barry was third at 839 (280-284-275).
Nova Southeastern's Juan Jose Guerra was the individual medalist with an 11-under 202 (68-68-66, followed by Barry's Niclas Weiland, who shot a nine-under 204 (69-67-68). FIT's Max O'Hagan (68-72-65) and FSC's John Coultas (68-71-66) tied for third with 205s.
