DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- The Embry-Riddle men's soccer team fought hard all game long, but their bid for a three-game winning streak was halted by the Tars of Rollins College in a 4-2 contest Wednesday night at the ERAU Soccer Stadium.

The Eagles (3-6-0, 2-4-0) were able to score the game's first goal for the sixth time this season. After a foul by the Tars in the sixth minute of play, a free kick was assessed, and Teddy West was able to launch a cross into the six foot box, where Tim-Frederik Lange was able to head a shot past goalkeeper Maximillian Obermeier for his sixth goal of the season.

Rollins (3-5-2, 2-2-2) would answer back a short time later in the 12th minute, as Kevin Da Rocha Figueira was able to head a ball past Jack Crichton on a pass from William Centeno to even the contest at 1-1.

That score would hold going into halftime, as the Tars outshot the Eagles 8-3 in the period. Crichton recorded three saves in the opening 45 minutes of action, and the Eagles were awarded five corner kicks in the period.

The second half started out with strong defense by both sides, with the Tars attacking on offense with several early shot attempts in the first 20 minutes of play, but it was a shot in the 67th minute that finally found its mark. A corner kick from Michael Landau played into the box was headed by Christian Adams to Georgios Koliniatis, who snuck one through a crowd to put the Tars back ahead 2-1.

Embry-Riddle would not waste much time with a response, as in the 74th minute, the duo of West and Lange struck again on another set piece. After another Rollins foul and resulting free kick near midfield, West launched a cross to just outside the six foot box that found its way to Lange, who quickly turned and fired a shot through the legs of a Rollins defender and past the keeper for his second goal of the contest and seventh of the season to even things at 2-2.

The tie would not last long, as just two minutes later, Dominic Adomakoh scored on a pass from Koliniatis, as he went left corner from the top of the six-foot box for what would wind up being the game-winner.

Rollins would tack on an insurance goal three minutes later in the 79th minute, as Koliniatis broke free and got behind the Eagles' defense to score his second goal of the contest on a pass from Tyler Nagy.

Embry-Riddle was outshot by the Tars 20-7 in the game. Crichton finished the evening with six saves in goal for the Blue and Gold. West recorded his first two assists of the season, while Lange recorded his second multi-goal game of the season, and has now scored four goals in the last three contests, placing him in a tie for second in the Sunshine State Conference in goals scored.

The Eagles will have the weekend off before returning to action next Wednesday October 23 on the road against top-25 opponent Palm Beach Atlantic in a 7 PM contest.
