The loss moves ERAU's season record to 9-1 overall and 5-1 in conference play, while the Bucs improve to 10-4 and 5-1 in SSC matches.
Kristin vom Schemm led all players with 14 kills and added 12 digs for her third career double-double, while

Barry used a quick 3-0 run to take a 6-4 lead early in the first set and the Bucs increased the lead to 11-7 a few minutes later. A 5-1 run brought ERAU back to even at 12-12, but an 8-2 spurt for the Bucs gave the visitors a comfortable 21-15 advantage, and they ended up taking the set by a 25-18 score.
Embry-Riddle got off to a much better start in set two, winning four of the first five points and pushing the lead to 7-3 after back-to-back service aces from Roa. BU bounced back with five consecutive points to take an 8-7 lead, but the Eagles responded by winning five of the next seven rallies to go ahead, 12-10. The Blue and Gold pushed the lead to four points (20-16) on a Schumacher service ace, but the Bucs battled back and eventually tied the set at 22 after a 5-1 run.
Amelia Hartnett came up with a big kill on just the second rally after entering the match for the first time, and that sparked a 3-0 run to clinch the set for ERAU, 25-22.
Barry took an 11-6 lead early in the third set and never allowed the Eagles to tie or take the lead, though Embry-Riddle did make it close at the end. Trailing 23-18, vom Schemm put down a kill and then served three more points to cut the deficit to one (23-22), but that was as close as ERAU would get, with Barry winning the set by a score of 25-23 to take a 2-1 lead in the match.
BU ran out to a quick 9-3 lead in the fourth and never looked back, outhitting the Blue and Gold .314 to .098 in the set to win it, 25-14, taking the match, 3-1.
The Eagles return to the court on Friday evening as they play host to Saint Leo in another SSC match, which is slated for a 7 p.m. start.
