Game Recap: #12 Women's Basketball |

Scoring Record Falls as @ERAUWBasketball Soars Past Oakland City, 110-69

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's basketball team (3-3) set a program scoring record with a 110-69 victory over Oakland City, Wednesday at the ICI Center. The Eagles' 110 points marks the highest single-game output in program history, eclipsing the 104-point total the Eagles' set almost to the day against West Liberty last season (Nov. 24, 2018).

Wednesday's game saw all 12 players take the court for the Blue and Gold with five scoring in double figures. Sarah Jones paced the Eagles with a season-high 19 points, while Nikki Tucker had 17 points to go with three assists. Rachel Murray and Shelby Bischoff each had career-best scoring performances as Murray finished with 17 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals, and Bischoff tallied 13 points to go with two assists and two steals. Sydney Jones and Imani Jones tied with a game-high nine rebounds and each player had three assists apiece as the Eagles were just two assists shy of the program record of 30.

ERAU also set a record for made field goals as they were 57.7 percent from the field with 45 made field goals on 78 attempts.

The Blue and Gold opened the game on a 14-5 run, but the Mighty Oaks, who shot 61.5 percent from the field in the first 10 minutes, used a 14-4 run of their own to overtake the Eagles 19-18. The Eagles regained control of the game and outscored the visitors 9-0 in the last 2:53 of the frame to take a 27-19 lead into the second.

Oakland City was able to stay with eight points of the Eagles for the first four minutes of the second quarter, but within a three-minute span, the Eagles opened up a 19-point margin and at the half, the home team held a comfortable 58-34 lead.

The Eagles didn't let up in either of the final two quarters as a 62.5 percent (20-of-32) shooting clip in the second half helped ERAU emerge from its last game before the Thanksgiving break with the 41-point victory.

OCU's Tabby Klem matched Sarah Jones' 19 points on the night as the Mighty Oaks fell to 2-5 on the year.

The Eagles will have a one-week break before they resume Sunshine State Conference play on Dec. 4 when ERAU will travel to Winter Park for a 5:30 tip against Rollins.
