Majstorovic's Monster Performance Powers @ERAUMBasketball to 98-84 Win Over Barry

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Luka Majstorovic scored a career-high 37 points, made a program-record 17 field goals, grabbed a career-best 16 rebounds, dished out three assists and rejected four shots to lead Embry-Riddle to a 98-84 win over visiting Barry on Saturday evening. The Eagles (15-8, 7-8 SSC) had a huge second half, out-scoring the Bucs (16-6, 10-5) 56-35 to overcome a seven-point halftime deficit and pick up their second win ever against Barry.

ERAU got the much-needed win on the back of a big run to start the second period. The Eagles trailed 49-42 at the break, but starting with a Majstorovic layup, began the second half on a 26-10 run, quickly erasing the Bucs' lead and building one of their own.

Majstorovic scored six of the team's first 12 points in the half, the other six coming from Nick Heard. Heard's free throw at the 16:24 mark cut the Barry lead to 56-54, and after one of Majstorovic's four blocks, Romeo Crouch tied the game on a layup before coming up with a steal and pass to a streaking Elijah Jenkins who made a layup to give ERAU their first lead in the period.

After Barry made a triple to re-take the lead, Majstorovic hit a jumper before Crouch nailed a big trey, and that started another run for the Eagles, this one a 19-1 run, capped by a Majstorovic jumper in the paint that put the Eagles up 77-60 with eight minutes and change left.

Over the next five minutes the visitors were able to get within seven on a three at the 3:21 mark, but once again it was Majstorovic who dashed the Bucs' hopes, making a layup and getting fouled and the Eagles finished the night on a 10-3 run to account for the 98-84 final.

The Eagles opened the game on fire from the floor, going up 20-14 on a Chris Murray layup at the 15-minute mark. ERAU began the contest 12-for-13 and lead it 29-19 on a Majstorovic jumper off a Crouch pass.

Barry stayed with the Eagles however, and after taking a 38-37 lead with just over four minutes left, the Bucs ended the half on an 11-5 run, taking a 49-42 cushion into the lockerroom.

Embry-Riddle shot 56 percent from the field and went 9-for-19 from deep, out-rebounding Barry 46-38 and owning the paint, 58-26.

Crouch finished with 19 points and seven assists, while Jenkins was the lone other Eagle in double-figures with 16 points. Murray grabbed 10 boards to go along with eight points and four assists.

Majstorovic's 37 points are the third-highest single-game individual total in program history, while his 17 field goals broke the school record of 16 shared by Sean Hester and Heath Fabacher.

ERAU hosts Tampa on Wednesday, February 12 for a 7:30 p.m. tip in the ICI Center.
