DAVIE, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle men's golf team was back in action on Monday at the Shark Invitational. Two rounds were completed at the par-71, 6,801-yard Grande Oaks Golf Club, and the Eagles sit 12th overall with a shot total of 603 (301-302).

Embry-Riddle thrived at the par-4, 386-yard fourth hole. Of the six Eagles participating, four birdied the hole in round one.

After tying the third-lowest 54-hole score in program history at last month's Jay Jennison Cup, Ian Aldarondo (74-76) finds himself once again battling for the team lead. He and Georgios Pachiadakis (73-77) recorded a total of 150 strokes after day one. Additionally, Pachiadakis notched a team-high six birdies in the 36 holes played on the day.

In his first tournament as an Eagle, Michael Faringer's two-round score of 152 (74-78) was highlighted by a below-par 35 on the front nine in round one.

Pablo Robles (81-73) vastly improved in the second round. His consistent play led to 15 holes pared and a birdie over the final 18 holes.

Jacob Salazar (80-76) also made his Embry-Riddle debut. Just like Robles, the freshman was nearly mistake-free in round two with 15 pars and a birdie.

Tyler Reese (86-84) competed as an individual.

Barry (557) leads the field followed by Lynn (562), and Florida Southern (570) with Keiser (571) and West Florida (571) rounding out the top five.

The third and final round gets underway at 8 a.m. tomorrow.

The 2021-22 Embry-Riddle Men's Golf season is presented by Tijuana Flats.
