DAYTONA BEACH, Florida - Embry-Riddle Director of Sports Marketing
Mitch VanSumeren has announced the addition of Matt Graifer, aka
The Young Professor, as the in-game host for Embry-Riddle men's and women's basketball games for the 2021-22 season.
The Young Professor is known throughout Florida and in many parts of the United States as a host of sporting contests, trivia nights, and all types of entertainment events. He has hosted football, baseball, professional wrestling, mixed martial arts, and boxing, and many Volusia County locals will recognize him as the emcee for the Daytona Tortugas.
"The Young Professor is going to add a new layer to our game day environment," VanSumeren said. "Additionally, he is going to help us create more buzz in the Daytona Beach community."
"I am absolutely ecstatic to become an official part of Eagle Nation and am ready to keep the energy from our students, fans, and community as high as possible on and off the court during this season," The Young Professor said. "I plan on taking some tricks I've learned along the way as a college professor and multi-sport emcee to enhance our game day experience. Let's go Eagles!"
The Young Professor will be at every men's and women's basketball home game this season, and is slated to make his debut on Friday for the 2021 Bahama House Shootout.
The 2021-22 Embry-Riddle Men's Basketball season is presented by Daytona Kia. The 2021-22 Embry-Riddle Women's Basketball season is presented by Daytona Mitsubishi.
