The Eagles jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the opening set, but the Panthers went on an 8-2 run to take an 11-10 lead. Florida Tech held a 15-13 lead when a McBride kill sparked a 6-1 spurt that grew into a set-clinching 12-3 run as ERAU pulled away for a 25-18 win.
The Blue and Gold rattled off seven straight points to open set two and the lead was never in doubt for the rest of the frame. Florida Tech was only able to string together multiple points on two occasions as the Eagle lead grew to double-digits at 15-5 and ballooned to a 25-11 win.
Set three was by far the most competitive of the night, featuring 13 ties and three lead changes. The Panthers held a slim 8-6 lead when a Hartnett kill helped spur a quick 3-0 run to go up 9-8. Florida Tech quickly responded and regained an 11-10 lead, but it wouldn't last. Trailing 16-14, Lanning put down a kill that would be the first of four straight points for the Eagles, which then became an 8-1 run that pushed ERAU to a 22-17 advantage. After a pair of Panthers points, the Blue and Gold scored the final three to clinch the set, 25-19.
The Eagles will hit the road for the final two matches of the regular season, beginning with a match at Florida Southern on Friday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m.
