Women's Soccer Defeats Lynn 1-0 On the Road

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle women's soccer team earned its ninth win of the 2022 season with a 1-0 defeat of Lynn University, Saturday at Bobby Campbell Stadium. With the win, the Eagles improve to 9-0-4 overall and 4-0-4 in the Sunshine State Conference while the Knights fall to 4-7 on the year and 2-5 in the conference.

The Eagles and Knights both showed good possession in the first half. In the first 10 minutes of play, the Blue & Gold fired three shots on goal, one each from Isabelle Navren, Marie Myhrvold Seim and Savanna Sheahan. All three shots trickled wide of the net, but the positive start was encouraging for the Eagles.

Just 23 minutes into the half, Myhrvold Seim found herself in space on the left wing. She out-muscled her defender, dribbled with speed and crossed the ball across the Knights' goal line where she found Saba Amiri. Amiri picked her head up and struck the ball into the top left corner of the net, giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead.

The Blue & Gold dominated the majority of possession in the second half. They moved the ball well and their attack was positive. Fifteen minutes into the half, Sheahan put her foot through the ball towards Knight netminder Hannah Harbich-Kuster but was unable to capitalize as the ball sailed just wide.

The Eagles will look to continue their success as they travel to Barker Family Stadium on Wednesday, Oct. 19 as they take on the Rollins Tars.
