Squire Leads No. 17 Women’s Lacrosse Past North Greenville

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Freshman Sallie Squire posted a record-setting performance in the Embry-Riddle women's lacrosse team's 20-5 win over North Greenville (2-7) at the ERAU Lacrosse Field on Saturday. Squire scored an ERAU single-game record eight goals as the 17th-ranked Eagles improved their record to 7-0 on the year.

Squire and Murphy McDonough combined for 14 goals for the Eagles who recorded their fourth 20-win game of the season.

The Eagles opened the scoring just 12 seconds into Saturday's contest and rattled off nine more scores before the Crusaders netted their first goal with one second left in the first quarter. NGU got another goal in the second quarter, but the Crusaders were outscored by the Eagles 4-1 and at the half, the home team led 14-2.

The Eagles put up a five-spot in the third to extend their lead to 19-3 but were scoreless through almost the entire fourth period. NGU scored twice late in the quarter, but Squire had the final say as she scored the last goal of the game with 11 seconds remaining.

Embry-Riddle is back at the ERAU Lacrosse Field on Wednesday to host Alabama-Huntsville. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
