CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Murphy McDonough scored a game-high four goals to lead the 13^th-ranked Embry-Riddle women's lacrosse team to a 10-8 win against Lee, Wednesday at the Lady Flames' Ray Conn Sports Complex. The win kept the Eagles' record perfect at 10-0 and matches the program's single season wins record.
 
At the 11:27 mark, McDonough caused a turnover on a Lee clear attempt and after picking up the ground ball, she netted the first goal of the game to give the Blue and Gold the early lead. Over the next four and a half minutes, the Eagles got three goals from three different scorers to extend the lead to 4-0. The Lady Flames were able to get a pair of goals back late in the quarter and heading into the second, the score was 4-2 in favor of the Eagles.
 
The scoring margin remained at two goals for the first 10 minutes of the second period until McDonough scored her third goal of the day to end a six-minute scoring drought for both teams at the 6:02 mark. The Blue and Gold scored three unanswered to go up 8-3, but Shayna Ryan tallied one of her three goals late in the quarter for Lee to make it 8-4 at the half.
 
Defense defined play in the third quarter as each team managed just one goal in that frame.
 
Solid defensive play continued into the fourth and neither team was able to add to its tally in the first seven and a half minutes. Lee scored twice to cut the Eagle lead 9-7 and Hannah Vescey answered Sallie Squire's score to keep the ERAU lead at two goals (10-8) with 2:58 remaining. However, neither team was able to get a shot off in the closing minutes, resulting in the 10-8 final.
 
The Eagles' next game will be their first contest against Sunshine State Conference competition this season. The Blue and Gold will travel to Melbourne to take on Florida Tech (RV) at 1 p.m. on April 2.
