Men's Soccer Defeats NCAA Division I Opponent For First Time in 4-1 Win Over Stetson

DELAND, Fla. - It was a historic evening for Embry-Riddle men's soccer on Wednesday night, as the Eagles gained their first program win over an NCAA Division I opponent with an emphatic 4-1 win over Stetson.
ERAU (3-4-2) was down 1-0 to the Hatters (5-4-3) at halftime but scored four second-half goals to come out as the victors at the Athletic Training Center.
The Eagles held their own for most of the first half, keeping it scoreless until a 44th minute goal by Stetson gave the Hatters the lead going into halftime.

It was an even first 45 minutes, with Stetson leading in the shots five to four.
The score was tied up at 1-1 in the 53rd minute, as an own goal by Stetson gave Embry-Riddle the equalizer.
Embry-Riddle then took the lead in the 69th minute, when junior midfielder/forward Sandro Henning put the Eagles ahead.
Just three minutes later ERAU scored a third, as senior midfielder Konstantin Kosoric's 72nd minute shot hit the back of the net for a 3-1 lead.
The exclamation mark was put on in the 87th minute, with Kosoric assisting junior midfielder Anthony Velez for his first career goal to go up 4-1.
While Stetson led in shots with 12 to ERAU's eight, it was Embry-Riddle who made the most of their attempts, leading in shots on goal by a tally of five to four.
Velez led the Eagles with two shots, while Salvatore della Valle had three saves in goal.
