DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Men's Soccer suffered a tough late loss, as Embry-Riddle fell 2-1 to the Florida Southern Mocs.
ERAU (3-6-2, 0-6-1 Sunshine State Conference) equalized quickly after falling behind in the first half, but FSC (5-3-5, 3-1-3 SSC) scored with 11 minutes left to win.
Florida Southern went ahead in the 13th minute, as their free kick reached the box and was knocked in for a goal.
An
Amit Libgot shot's in the 17th minute was handballed inside the penalty box by a Moc, and
Sandro Henning converted the penalty kick for his third goal of the season, tying up the match at 1-1.
No more goals were scored before halftime, with Florida Southern leading the Eagles in shots four to two in the first half.
Following a back and forth second half, the Mocs scored again on a set piece, as a goal in the 80th minute that was similar in fashion to their first gave them a 2-1 lead.
Those were to be the only goals of game, as FSC gained their third conference win of the year.
All in all, FSC led the shots battle 10-6, and
Salvatore della Valle made six saves in goal.
Embry-Riddle is back on the road after two home games, facing Saint Leo in for another SSC matchup in Saint Leo, Fla. Kickoff on Saturday, Oct 21 at Saint Leo Soccer Field is set for 7 p.m.
