LAKELAND, Fla. – Freshman
Taylor Roth earned a top 10 finish to lead the Embry-Riddle women's cross country team to fourth place at the 2023 Sunshine State Conference Championships at Holloway Park on Saturday.
The team title went to Tampa who score 32 points after putting four runners in the top 10, including the meet championship. Nova Southeastern (56 pts), Palm Beach Atlantic (58 pts), Embry-Riddle (90 pts) and Florida Southern (111 pts) rounded out the top five.
The Eagles
The Eagles improved on last year's fifth-place finish, compiling a total time of 1:55.26, which is the fourth fastest 6K time in program history. The Blue and Gold placed three runners in the top 20.
Competing in her first collegiate 6K, Roth crossed the line 22:27.7 to earn All-Championship Team honors.
Abby Valley ran the fastest 6K race of her career and her time of 22:41.7 was good for 12th place overall.
Caroline Harris ran a personal-best 23:10.8 to take 17th, while
Kendall Mathis (23:31.9) and
Anna Miller (23:33.2) placed 25th and 26th, respectively, to round out the Eagles' top five finishers.

Next Up
The Eagles will continue in the postseason at the NCAA II South Region Championship on Saturday, Nov. 4. The regional championship will be held at the Montevallo Cross Country Course in Montevallo, Alabama.
