Tubbs and Roth Lead the Way In Record Shattering Day

| By:
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Some records are meant to be broken and today proved that to be the case for the Eagles. Embry-Riddle built upon previous years success at John Hunt Park on Saturday morning in a day that saw both team and individual records fall in the 6K as the Eagles took a fourth place team finish at the UAH Chargers invitational.

A stacked 38 team field that featured No. 10 Lee (Tenn.), No. 23 Cedarville, No. 24 Tampa, and No. 29 Catawba set up for some of the best competition that Embry-Riddle has ran against this season. Embry-Riddle, finished ahead of one of the USTFCCCA top 25 teams in today's race.

The new record for total team time is 1:48.29 which shatters the previous time of 1:50:46 set back in 2023 by over two minutes. ERAU placed six runners in the top 100, two in the top 10, and had a split of 1:22 between the first and fifth place finishers.

Asked about his team's performance Head Coach Mike Rosolino had this to say, "The women had an amazing race and for the first time all year really put it all together. I knew we had the possibility to be the best women's team ever in school history and today they proved it by shattering our school record team time by 2 minutes! This team is working so hard and today that work paid off in a big way. All Around amazing race and great confidence builder as we move to the post-season".

Emily Tubbs set the new personal best and program 6K record with a time of 21:02.5 while finishing sixth overall. Taylor Roth finished tenth on the day and also broke the previous record of 21:18.7 set by Sarah Edens in 2018 with her own time of 21:06.4 which is now good enough for second best in program history. Charlotte O'Brien had a PR of 21:47 and finished 33rd, a time that is now the fifth fastest in program history. Izzy Villarreal added the new 12th fastest program time and a PR of 22:07.2 while finishing 48th. Five other Eagles runners also had standout days for themselves setting new PRs.
