Southern Evens Series After 11-3 Win Over Baseball on Saturday

LAKELAND, Florida - The Florida Southern Mocs returned the favor on Saturday with an 11-3 win over Embry-Riddle baseball after the Eagles (20-20, 8-15 SSC) took down FSC (28-12, 13-7 SSC) in the series opener on Friday night. The Mocs scored 11 runs on 10 hits and five walks, while the Eagles managed just three runs on eights hits. FSC scored six runs in the last two frames to make a relatively close game a blowout.

Connor Dunnam (2-7) went six innings as ERAU's starter, allowing seven earned runs on eight hits with six strikeouts before Casey Keller and Isaiah Eberheart each pitched an inning of relief.

The home team took an early 3-0 lead in the first, but the Eagles battled back with single runs in the third and fourth. Unfortunately for the vistitors, both those runs were immediately answered by Southern with runs of its own in the bottom halfs of those frames.

Camden Traficante, Josh Reynolds, nad Robert Post all collected RBIs on the day, while Matthew Coker finished 3-for-3 with a run. Despite ERAU going 5-for-12 with two outs, the visitors hurt themselves with several outs on the base paths.

Aric McAtee went seven innings, scattering five hits with seven Ks against the Blue and Gold, while five different Mocs registered an RBI.

The two teams will wrap up their weekend set on Sunday with a 2 p.m. first pitch from Henley Field.
