LAKELAND, Florida - The 2023 season officially got underway on Friday morning for the Embry-Riddle women's cross country team as the Eagles raced in the Mocs XC Kick-Off, hosted by Florida Southern. The Eagles placed fourth as a team at Holloway Park, running a modified 4.2K course.
Caroline Harris led the way for ERAU, finishing 13th overall in 16:02, just 15 seconds out of a top-10 showing.
Taylor Roth made her collegiate debut on Friday, impressing with a 16th-place showing (16:06), while
Abby Valley kicked off her senior season in 21st overall (16:14).
Kelly Steffens (16:20)Â and
Kendall Mathis (16:45) finished 24th and 35th, respectively, rounding out the Blue and Gold scorers, with
MacKenzie Keller finishing 49th overall in 19:08.
ERAUÂ has a few weeks to rest and prepare for the annual Embry-Riddle Cross Country Classic on Sept. 16. The Eagles will look to claim their 10th home meet title.
