GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Following a two-week hiatus, a seven-man contingent from the Embry-Riddle men's cross country team was back in action on Friday morning. The Eagles took fifth place overall out of 15 teams at the Mountain Dew Invitational hosted by the University of Florida.
For the second week in a row,
Tanner Rosolino was the Eagles' top finisher as he crossed in the line 12th place overall. The senior ran the second fastest 8K race of his career with a time of 24:37.7, which is the 20th fastest 8K time in ERAU history.
Brendon Shea recorded the other top-20 finish for the Blue and Gold, placing 16th overall in 24:44.9.
Competing in the first 8K race of his collegiate career, Nick Scarangelli crossed in 25:15.6, while
Andrew Stowe (25:24.6) and
Micah Blair (25:44.5) rounded out the Eagle scorers.
Brandon Santagelo ran a personal best time of 26:52.6, while
Tayan Benson finished in 27:04.1.
The remainder of the Embry-Riddle squad will compete in the Embry-Riddle Cross Country Classic on Saturday morning. Race time is slated for 7:20 a.m.
