DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - It was a true team effort for the Embry-Riddle women's cross country team as four Eagles finished inside the top-10 to help the Blue and Gold come away with a second-place showing at the Embry-Riddle Cross Country Classic on Saturday. The Eagles earned 35 points, just 15 behind winner Seton Hall but 80 ahead of Flagler. All 10 teams raced on a 5K course.

Caroline Harris recorded her first-ever top-5 placement with a time of 19:37.2, just 31.1 seconds back of the winner Ariana Anderson, a former Eagle.

A trio of Blue and Gold runners arrived at the finish line a few seconds later as Kelly Steffens (7th - 19:51.8), Abby Valley (8th - 19:56.2), and Taylor Roth (9th - 20:00.0) all finished within a nine-second time window. Additionally, it was a personal-best 5K time and finish for Valley.

Kendall Mathis just missed out on a top-10, but she did earn a career-best result thanks to her 11th-place showing and time of 20:18.9. MacKenzie Keller crossed the finish line in 16th (21:05.7) with Ravyn Edge (18th - 21:28.6) and Anna Miller (19th - 21:33.8) also finishing inside the top-20.

Alaina Rider stopped the clock at 21:45.8 in 23rd while Nithya Chummar placed 44th (24:07.2).

Next up for the Eagles is the FSU Invitational on Friday, Sept. 29.
