DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Men's Soccer suffered a tough loss Saturday night, as the Eagles (2-2-1, 0-2-0 Sunshine State Conference), fell 1-0 to the Barry Buccaneers (2-2-1, 2-0-0 SSC) on a late goal.
Both teams had chances in the first half, with the Eagles hitting the crossbar three minutes in, and
Ferriol Caballe i Vila making multiple saves to keep it level.
In spite of this, the first half brought no goals, with Barry having four shots to Embry-Riddle's one, with the Buccaneers having the only two shots on goal through 45 minutes.
Barry kept up the pressure in the second half, getting numerous shots (six) and corner kicks (five) throughout the half.
They eventually broke through and secured a late winner, as an 88th minute goal gave them the win, giving ERAU their second SSC loss of the season.
Caballe i Vila (2-2-1) made three saves in net, as sophomore midfielder/forward
Tom Shepherd led the Eagles with two shots.
Barry dominated the stat sheet, having 10 shots, four of which were on goal, while one of Embry-Riddle's three shots were on target.
Embry-Riddle is back on the road in the SSC on Wednesday, Sept. 27, facing the Rollins Tars in Winter Park, Florida. Kickoff at Barker Family Field is set for 6 p.m.
The 2023 Embry-Riddle men's soccer season is presented by Radiology Associates.
