TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle men's cross country team earned its second second-place finish of the season at the FSU Invitational hosted by Florida State University on Friday morning. The Eagles scored 75 points to finish behind the University of Florida (39 points) and ahead of Florida Southern (82 points), Tampa (114 points) and South Florida (178 points) in the 31-team 8K race at the Apalachee Regional Park.
For the third time this season,
Tanner Rosolino was the top finisher for the Blue and Gold. The senior led for much of the race and crossed the line in 24:46.7, less than four second behind the race winner.
Brendon Shea was the second Eagle to cross the line in a time of 25:12.6 for a 12th place overall finish.
Andrew Stowe ran personal best 25:40.4 which put him in 19th place. Nick Scarangelli (24th, 25:27.4) was the fourth Eagle finisher, while
Tayan Benson also set a personal record with a time of 25:30.0 to round out the Eagle scoring.
Four other Eagle harriers posted personal best times on Friday, including
Brandon Santangelo (25:59.4),
Ethan Stout (27:12.7), Ryan Malarchick (26:11.6),
Simon Cole (26:46.8) and
Gavin Weinheimer (28:58.9).
The Eagles' next race will be on Oct. 7 when they travel to Huntsville, Alabama to compete in the UAH Invitational.
