Women’s Basketball Picks Up Win No. 10 With Upset of Lubbock Christian

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Embry-Riddle women's basketball team scored one of the biggest wins in program history on Thursday morning. The Eagles ranked 25th in the most recent WBCA Coaches' Poll, toppled seventh-ranked Lubbock Christian 66-58 in the first game of the 2024 Holiday Hoops Classic presented by Sport Tours.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
• The Eagles shot 53.8% (7-of13) from the field.
• Embry-Riddle scored the first bucket and held the lead for the entire quarter.
• The Blue and Gold outscored the Lady Chaps 17-12 in the first 10 minutes.
 
Second Quarter
• The Lady Chaps erased the deficit with a 7-0 run to start the second quarter.
• The Eagles responded with a 5-0 run to go back in front, 22-19.
• The second quarter featured four ties and four lead changes.
Sarah Napoli hit her only three of the day to put the Eagles up 34-32 at the half.
 
Third Quarter
• Both teams were 38.5 percent from the field.
• Lubbock Christian had a 2-1 edge in made threes.
• The score was close throughout the third and after Teterycz hit a three to put the Eagles up by three, Robertson drilled a three of her own to knot the score at 48-48.
 
Fourth Quarter
• The fourth quarter proved the best for the Eagles who were 5-of-9 from the field.
• Lubbock Christian managed just two made field goals in the final 10 minutes.
• The score was still tied (54-54) with 4:12 left to play.
• The Eagles forced two turnovers and outscored the Lady Chaps 8-2 over the next three minutes to go up 62-56.
• Lubbock Christian managed just two points in the last two minutes while the Eagles made good on all four trips to the free throw line to seal the win.

The Eagles wrap up tournament play at 11:15 a.m. (PST) on Friday on morning against No. 13 Texas Tyler.
