LAS VEGAS, Nev. –- The Embry-Riddle women's basketball team suffered its first loss of the 2024-25 campaign on Friday, falling to Texas-Tyler 76-74 at the Holiday Hoops Classic presented by Sport Tours International.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
• The Eagles held a slim three-point (8-5) lead early
• UTT Tyler forced eight turnovers and shot 44.4 percent from the field to lead 20-11 at the end of the quarter.
Second Quarter
• Texas-Tyler increased the lead to 18 (31-13) in the first four minutes of the second quarter.
• At the 5:50 mark, Jean-Louis hit a jumper that started a 12-2 Eagle run that made it an eight-point (33-25) game with 1:04 left in the half.
• The Eagles rallied from a slow start to the quarter to shoot 46.7 percent (7-of-15) from the field.
• The halftime score was 35-27 in favor of Texas-Tyler
Third Quarter
• The Eagles opened the third quarter on a 7-2 run
• Texas-Tyler got a three from Shaylee McDonald to go back up by eight (40-32).
• Embry-Riddle responded with a layup from Jean-Louis and a three from
Mary Lengemann that reduced the deficit to three (40-37).
• A driving layup by Jean-Louis at the 2:28 mark made it a one-point (45-44) game.
• Texas Tyler was able to build the lead back up to five, but a Teterycz trey narrowed the gap to 52-50 heading into the fourth quarter.
• The Eagles were 52.9 percent (9-of-17) from the field and 5-for-10 from long range in the third period
Fourth Quarter
• The Eagles' shooting cooled in the fourth quarter, while Texas-Tyler heated up to a 53.8 percent (7-of-13) shooting clip.
• Texas-Tyler increased their lead to nine points (60-51) within the first four minutes of the fourth.
• The Patriots scored nine points off Eagle turnovers in the final 10 minutes of play.

Kyra Haan hit a pair of free throws to pull the Eagles within five (66-61) with 1:24 left to play
• Texas-Tyler outscored Embry-Riddle 10-2 in the final 1:24 to seal the win.
NEXT UP
The Eagles will open the 2025 calendar year on the road with a trip to Lynn on Jan. 2. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
