Volleyball Ends Regular Season With Loss to No. 1 Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. - Embry-Riddle Volleyball attempted to go out with a bang on Saturday as the Eagles tried to hand top-ranked Tampa its first loss of the year to end the regular season. However, the Eagles came up short in four sets against the Spartans despite excellent defense. Embry-Riddle recorded 89 digs, a single-match high for a four-set contest in 2025.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
  • Two Tampa errors and a kill from Stella Weisbrod had the Eagles looking strong up 3-0
  • A pair of 3-0 runs by the Spartans had Tampa with a 7-6 lead
  • Fifi Harvey produced a trio of kills in close succession to return the lead to Embry-Riddle at 9-8
  • Dakota Zieman mimicked Harvey with three kills late in the set to level the score at 20-20
  • However, UT ended the set on a 5-0 run to take it 25-20
Second Set
  • The momentum carried over into the second set as Tampa shot ahead 6-1
  • Though a 4-0 spurt got the Eagles within two (8-6), the Blue and Gold were unable to gain the lead and dropped set two 25-21
Third Set
  • Embry-Riddle went on a 5-1 run to streak ahead 9-6
  • Tampa responded with four unanswered scores to swipe the lead, 10-9
  • Later down 20-18, ERAU surged ahead as a pair of kills from Zieman aided the Blue and Gold on a 5-1 spurt (23-21)
  • Haley Manjack then sealed the set with a kill (25-23)
Fourth Set
  • The Eagles held an early 2-1 lead, but the Spartans took over from there
  • Five-straight tallies late in the set by UT had ERAU behind 24-17, and the Spartans eventually took the set 25-18

  • Embry-Riddle held the edge in aces, 5-0
  • The Eagles had no serve reception errors for the first time in 2025
  • Zieman saved the best for last as she capped off her freshman season with a single-match high 16 digs and tied her season high in kills with 22
    • It was her third-straight double-double and 11th of the year
  • Harvey posted a career-best 18 kills
  • Ashlyn Koerner picked up her 13th double-double of 2025 with 39 assists and 16 digs
    • She also eclipsed 1,000 assists during the season (1,027)

PROGRAM RECORD BOOK
  • Manjack ended the year with the fifth-highest attacking percentage in a single season in program history (.343)
    • It was also the highest in the program's NCAA II era.
  • Gabriela Pagan reached an SSC-leading 554 digs in 2025, the 10th-most in a season by an Eagle
    • Additionally, her 1401 career digs rank sixth-most all time
  • Isabella Rujano ends the regular season with the seventh-most career kills (1,302) and the eighth-most career points (1,503.5) in program history
