HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
  • Even with an 11 AM tipoff, Emmanuel was ready to go right away. The Lions started the game on an 8-2 run.
  • Back-to-back buckets from the freshman duo of Branch and Eliana Sheplee made the game 8-6 with just 4:00 left in the quarter.
  • ERAU ended the quarter by scoring four points in the final five seconds, and trailed 13-12 after the opening 10 minutes.
Second Quarter
  • After trailing at the end of the first quarter for the first time this season, Embry-Riddle locked down Emmanuel in the second quarter, only giving up six points.
  • The Lions shot 1-for-16 in the quarter, but added four points at the free throw line.
  • ERAU went on a 13-2 run early in the quarter, behind seven points from Lengemann. During the run, the senior made the Eagles' only three of the game.
  • That run put Embry-Riddle up 25-17, and they would hold on to that eight point advantage for the rest of the half.
Third Quarter
  • The Eagles largest lead of the game came when they went up 33-23 after a fastbreak layup from Sheplee within the opening minutes after the break.
  • Emmanuel responded with an 8-0 run after that layup, making it just a one possession game.
  • After being held to one made field goal in the prior quarter, the Lions shot .615 from the field in the third. A buzzer-beating layup from Lizzie Teasley ensured that we entered the fourth quarter locked up at 39 apiece.
Fourth Quarter
  • The two teams traded buckets in the beginning of the quarter, with the score tied at 43 with five minutes to go.
  • Naomi Roberts scored 13 points in the final quarter of the game, including 11 points in the last five minutes.
  • Branch had three of the Embry-Riddle's five made field goals, finishing off one of the best games of her young career.
  • Trailing by five with 90 seconds left, ERAU tried their luck from behind the three point line, but couldn't find a lifeline.
INSIDE THE STATS
  • The Eagles starters led the way throughout, with the five starters combining for all 50 points scored in the game.
  • Embry-Riddle attempted 20 three point shots in the game, the most in a game this season.
  • ERAU recorded 36 points in the paint this afternoon, but were held to a season-low six free throw attempts.
