SAINT LEO, Fla. – A 20-point outing by
Madyson Jean-Louis and a double-double from Anye' Staton helped lift the Embry-Riddle women's basketball team to a 70-57 road win against Saint Leo on Saturday. Four players scored in double digits for the Eagles who opened the month of February the way they closed out January to solidify their spot at the top of the Sunshine State Conference standings.

• The Eagles are 13th in the latest WBCA Coaches' Poll and 10th in the most recent D2 CSC Media Poll.
• Saturday's win completed the Eagles' season sweep of the Lions.
• Anye' Staton's second career double-double included a career-best 16 points.
• The Eagles dominated the Lions on the boards, outrebounding Saint Leo 51-23.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
• The Eagles scored the first points of the game, but turned the ball over six times in the first four minutes.
• The Eagle miscues helped the Lions take an 8-2 lead.
• After making just one field goal in the first 4:16, the Blue & Gold connected on seven consecutive field goal attempts and took over the lead with 2:33 left in the first.
• Embry-Riddle was 64.3 percent (9-of-14) from the field to take a 20-15 lead into the second.
Second Quarter
• A 6-3 spurt to start the second helped the Eagles extend their lead to seven (25-18).
• After missing eight shots in a row, the Lions got a basket from Alanis Diaz, which started a 7-2 burst that cut the ERAU lead to two points (27-25).
• Still trailing by two with 24 seconds left, the Lions had a chance to tie or take the lead, but they missed the quick layup attempt.
• The Eagles grabbed the rebound and with two seconds remaining, Jean-Louis drained a three to widen the gap to 34-29 at the half.
Third Quarter
• The Lions scored the first basket of the quarter to reduce the lead to three (34-31), but Lengemann made the first of two free throws, rebounded her miss on the second and finished the layup to widen the gap to 37-31.
• Following a Diaz three, Staton finished a feed from
Jenna Teterycz that keyed a 14-2 Eagle run.
• The Blue & Gold ended the third period up 54-39.
Fourth Quarter
• The Lions opened the fourth by outscoring the Eagles 8-2 in the first four and a half minutes to narrow the lead to nine (58-49).
• Saint Leo was not able to get any closer, however, as the Eagles, despite making just one free throw, kept the Lions at bay with a 53.8 percent (7-of-13) clip from the field.
NEXT UP
For the first time in three weeks, the Eagles will be back inside the friendly confines of the ICI Center, celebrating National Women and Girls in Sports Day with a 5:30 p.m. game against Lynn.
