Women’s Lacrosse Earns Road Win Against Lenoir-Rhyne

HICKORY, N.C. Embry-Riddle Women's Lacrosse (4-0) won its fourth consecutive game on the road on Saturday afternoon against Lenoir-Rhyne (0-3). Standout games from Caitlin Gavin and Kenley Zeruto led ERAU to a 23-11 win.
 
Game Highlights:
  • The first goal came from Eagle attacker Eliana Enners just 45 seconds into the game. The Bears' only lead came in the first quarter, as they went ahead, 3-1, but the run was quickly stopped and the Eagles finished the quarter 6-5 ahead.
  • In the second quarter, five different Eagles scored goals, and the defense held strong, finishing the half 12-9.
  • Sallie Squire started the second half strong scoring the two first goals of the half taking the Eagles to 14-9. The quarter went back and forth with three more goals before ending at 15-11 in favor of the Eagles.
  • ERAU dominated the last quarter and went on an eight-goal spurt. The defense held the Bears goalless in the fourth quarter on the way to the 23-11 final score.
  • The Eagles had nine different goal scorers and won the draw 23-12.
 
Player Spotlights:
  • Gavin led the field with eight points coming from five goals and three assists, her best performance of the season so far.
  • Zeruto had another great performance, collecting six points from two goals and four assists.
The Eagles will stay in North Carolina to take on Barton at noon on Monday.
