Men’s Tennis Drops Close Contest to Ferris State

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The No. 17 Embry-Riddle men's tennis team battled hard on Monday but came up short against No. 41 Ferris State 5-2.

  • This was the first-ever meeting between Embry-Riddle and Ferris State.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Eagles showed plenty of fight, but the Bulldogs came out strong in doubles play, sweeping all three courts to secure the early point.
  • Wilson Igbinovia delivered a flawless performance at No. 1 singles, blanking Kevin Kovacs 6-0, 6-0 to level the team score.
  • Enrico Rosellini followed up with a solid win at No. 3, defeating Erik Kovacs 6-3, 7-5 to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead.
  • Despite winning their opening sets, Joshua Nuyts, Alvaro Diaz Rodrigo, and Michele Iftimie were unable to hold off their Bulldog opponents, each falling in three tightly contested matches as Ferris State clinched the victory.
