JACKSON, Tenn. – The Embry-Riddle women's basketball team suffered a heartbreaking loss to Nova Southeastern in the semifinals of the NCAA II South Region tournament on Friday. Facing the Sharks for the fourth time this season and the second time in six days, the Eagles were unable to get the better of the match-up against their conference foe, falling 66-63.

GAME NOTES
• Saturday's loss ended the Eagles' 2024-25 campaign at a program-best 27-5.
• Advancing to the semifinal against the Sharks matched the Eagles' best performance on the regional stage.

Madyson Jean-Louis scored a team-high 18 points in her final game wearing the Blue and Gold and will leave the program as the Eagles' all-time leading scorer with 1,577 points.

Laurie Satchell was just one rebound shy of her third career double-double, finishing with 17 points and nine boards.

First Quarter
• The first 10 minutes of play featured four ties and three lead changes.
• With the score tied at 5-5, the Eagles hit four free throws to go up 9-5.
• The Sharks managed to tie the score at 9-9 and used a 7-0 run to take a 16-9 lead.

Jenna Teterycz hit a three at the buzzer to close the gap to four (16-12).
Second Quarter
• The Sharks built the lead up to eight (20-12) early in the second.
• At the 6:51 mark, Satchell got an offensive board and a put-back and that play started 7-0 run that made it a one-point (20-19) game
• With 5:28 left in the quarter Satchell hit a layup to tie the score at 21-21.
• Satchell's layup at the 3:12 mark gave the Eagles their first lead of the quarter and the Eagles outscored the Sharks 9-3 in the last 3:12 to lead 32-27 at the half.
Third Quarter
• Five minutes into the third, the Eagles were up 42-34 and at the four-minute mark,
Sarah Napoli drained a three to make it a nine-point (45-36) game.
• The Sharks cut the lead to three (48-45) with 1:37 left, but baskets by Jean-Louis and Anye' Staton expanded the Eagle lead to six (52-46) heading into the fourth.
Fourth Quarter
• The Sharks outscored the Eagles 4-0 to start the fourth and with 6:22 left they tied the score at 52-52.
• The Sharks took the lead on the next possession and after going up by four, they held on to a three-point lead until Jean-Louis hit a pair of free throws to cut the lead to one (58-57) with 3:38 left.
• Satchell's layup with 2:50 left put the Eagles ahead by one (59-58), but the advantage was short-lived.
• The Sharks outscored the Eagles 8-4 in the closing minutes to take the win.
