Softball’s Upset Bid Falls Short Against No. 2 Tampa

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle Softball had No. 2 Tampa on the ropes in the series opener with a 3-1 lead in the seventh inning. However, a late rally by the Spartans foiled the Eagles' upset attempt as ERAU fell 5-3. ERAU knew it was going to be a hard-fought battle as Tampa entered the series with the lowest ERA in the entire NCAA I (1.01) and the third-best WHIP (0.89).
