DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's basketball team will play for the 2025 Sunshine State Conference tournament title on Sunday. The top-seeded Eagles secured a spot in the championship game with a 60-56 win over No. 4 Eckerd on Thursday evening at the ICI Center.

• The Eagles are 15th in the latest WBCA Coaches' Poll and tied for 11th in the most recent D2 CSC Media Poll.
• The Eagles earned a No. 1 tournament seed for the first time in program history.
• Embry-Riddle scored 19 points off 13 Eckerd turnovers and bested the Tritons 14-0 in second chance points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
• A close first quarter featured three ties and three lead changes.
• The Eagles scored 11 points off seven Eckerd turnovers.
• At the 4:29 mark two free throws and a three-pointer gave the Tritons a six-point (13-7) advantage.

Sarah Napoli, who had three steals in the first quarter, fired up the crowd with her first theft and ignited an Eagle run that included baskets by Teterycz, Jean-Louis and
Chandler Brooks, which erased the deficit and tied the game at 13-13.
• The Eagle run continued with another Jean-Louis layup and at the end of the period ERAU led 15-14.
Second Quarter
• The lead changed hands five times in the second 10 minutes of action.
• Lengemann's first trey of the game increased the Eagle lead to four (20-16), but the Tritons scored five unanswered to take over the lead.
• Back-and forth play led to a tied game (26-26) with 38 seconds left.
• The Tritons were called for a foul with 14 seconds left in the period and Jean-Louis made both free throws to put the Eagles ahead 28-26.
• The Tritons missed on their next trip down the court and managed to get the rebound, but the Eagles forced another turnover on the inbounds play and took the two-point edge into the halftime break.
Third Quarter
• Only one point separated the teams in the third quarter.
• In a 10-minute stretch that saw the Eagles shoot 28.6 percent and the Tritons shoot 27.8 percent from the field, free throws made the difference as the Eagles connected on eight free throws while the Tritons only made three shots from the charity stripe.
• The score was tied at 41-41 with 2:13 remaining, but a free throw from
Laurie Satchell and two more makes by Teterycz put the Eagles up 44-41 heading into the fourth.
Fourth Quarter
• Both teams improved their field goal percentage significantly in the final frame.
• Teterycz hit a mid-range jumper at the 5:05 mark to put extend the cushion to 51-45.
• The Tritons scored four in a row to make it a two-point game, but Teterycz and Satchell combined for four points to reclaim the six-point advantage.
• Bucher scored five points in 48 seconds to pull the Tritons within one (55-54) with 1:09 left on the clock.
• Both teams traded baskets and following a Ostenson layup that made it 54-52 in favor of ERAU, Eagle head coach
Lisa Wilson called a timeout to advance the ball.
• The Eagles' execution out of the timeout was perfect as Napoli's pass gave
Kailey Turpening a wide-open lane to the basket and the junior finished the play to seal the win for the Blue & Gold.
