TAMPA, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle 2025 men's lacrosse season came to an end in the semifinal round of the Sunshine State Conference tournament on Wednesday. The fourth-seeded Eagles went on the road to face top-seeded Tampa for the second time in 11 days, and the top-ranked Tampa offense was dominant in a 21-4 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
• The Spartans scored the first goal of the game less than three minutes into the contest.
• At the 7:50 mark,
Pete Abbes fed
Connor Hinson for his sixth goal of the season to tie the score at 1-1.
• Tampa scored four goals in the last seven minutes of the period to open up a 5-1 lead.
Second Quarter
• Tampa's first goal of the second quarter came just 39 seconds in.

Tim Keefe answered for the Eagles with an unassisted score just 22 seconds later.
• After Tampa added two more goals, the Eagles capitalized on an extra-man opportunity as Abbes got the Eagles' third goal at the 7:08 mark.
• The Spartans had a quick response to the Eagles' score again and registered the last three goals of the quarter to extend the lead to 11-3 at the half.
Third Quarter
• Tampa pressed its advantage by outscoring the Eagles 7-0 third quarter.
• The Eagles were successful on all three of their clear attempts, but managed just four shots in the period.
Fourth Quarter
• The highlight of the fourth quarter for the Eagles was
Sean Meyers who came off the bench to score the first goal of his career.
• The Spartans got three more goals in the fourth to help secure a spot in the SSC Tournament title game.
SEASON SNAPSHOT
The 2025 campaign featured several firsts for ERAU Men's Lacrosse, including earning a spot in the USILA national rankings for the last five weeks of the season. The Eagles saw their first postseason action after achieving their best finish in SSC play (4th) and closed out the year above .500 for the first time in program history.
