Women’s Rowing’s Ernst, Edwards Repeat as CSC Academic All-District Honorees

| By:
GREENWOOD, Ind. - Embry-Riddle Women's Rowing student-athletes Shelby Ernst and Soleil Edwards were included on the College Sports Communicators Women's At-Large Academic All-District team, the organization announced on Tuesday. The pair of Eagles also made the team together in 2024. This is Ernst's third-consecutive year receiving the award.

The at-large distinction, which is an honor that seeks to recognize the premier student-athletes in college athletics who excel both in the classroom and in their respective sports, includes beach volleyball, bowling, rowing, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing and water polo.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (including both undergraduate and graduate degree work) and be at least a sophomore in both athletic and academic standing.

For rowing, a nominee must have competed in at least four competitions or as a member of an NCAA boat at a conference championship. In addition to this, athletic departments are limited to six nominations from women's sports.

Both Edwards and Ernst have been key parts of the ERAU's Varsity Eight shell all season long. The two Eagles helped Embry-Riddle claim Sunshine State Conference and Florida Intercollegiate Rowing Association titles while also aiding ERAU in capturing the program's first NCAA II National Championship.

This is Edwards' second academic accolade of the season after the junior received the NCAA's Elite 90 award. She has an unblemished 4.0 cumulative GPA and is majoring in electrical engineering, while Ernst is pursuing a master's in aviation and also maintains a 4.0 GPA.
