ORLANDO, Fla. – Jared Berry of Embry-Riddle men's basketball has been named the Sunshine State Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.

The Apopka, Fla. native led the scoring efforts for ERAU, averaging 22.5 points per game at a 46% clip for the week while going 5-for-5 from the foul line in both contests.

Berry began the week with a 22-point, 10-rebound double-double performance in the narrow 70-66 loss to No. 8-ranked Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday. He added five assists and two steals versus the Sailfish.

In the win over Lynn on Saturday, the redshirt junior guard produced a 23-point outing while shooting for 57% from the field with six assists and two steals.

Berry currently leads the league in total assists with 80 for an average of 5.7 per contest. He is fifth in scoring average with 18.6 ppg, scoring 20 or more points six times this season.

Monday's honor is the first of Berry's career and the first this season for the men's basketball program.
