DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Embry-Riddle dropped a home contest on Saturday evening, 2-0 against No. 11 Nova Southeastern. The Blue and Gold outshot NSU 13-11 across the game but were unable to overcome a quick start from the Sharks who scored the opening goal inside of the first three minutes. NSU found the back of the net again in the 27th minute through Genesis Hernandez and did just enough to keep out an aggressive Eagles attack. ERAU finished the game with five shots on goal which is their most in an SSC contest this season, but were consistently turned away by Ewa Sikora who helped her team leave with all three points after she finished with five saves and a clean sheet.

First Half
ERAU had seven corner kicks in just the first half, compared to none for the Sharks, but NSU's backline did not give up many chances on the set pieces. The Sharks were efficient when they went forward, scoring on the first shot of the game at 2:51 when Maja Isaksson found Kristina Syrigakis cutting inside from the right wing. Embry-Riddle had four corner kicks and three shots in a five-minutes stretch from 12:20 to 17:15, but a pair of saves from Sikora kept it a 1-0. Nova Southeastern doubled their advantage as they scored their second goal with just the team's second shot on goal. Genesis Hernandez scored her league-leading 11th goal following an interception high up the field from Ella Niemela.
Lisa Elowsson provided a spark off the bench for the Blue and Gold as she took the team's final three shots of the half and forced a pair of saves from Sikora.

Second Half
The second half was similar to the opening 45 minutes as the Eagles continued to see a majority of the ball and outshot the Sharks, but neither goalie was beaten in the half. The first 15 minutes of the half saw end-to-end action with each team taking three shots in addition to four corner kicks between the two teams, but
Stella Roane made a pair of saves to keep the Eagles within striking distance.
Ebba Fjordskaer nearly found the opener at 56:47 and was only denied by Sikora tipping her shot on to the crossbar before being cleared by the Sharks.
Agnes Vigholm had her shot blocked in the 71st minute, meanwhile
Franziska Libske couldn't find the target with her shot at 83:14. The final chance of the game fell to
Lauryn Mateo on a corner kick in the final 60 seconds, however her headed effort went wide of the far post, bringing the game to an end at 2-0.
